Eindhoven

On the train to Eindhoven. We saw lots of sheep, some miniature ponies, windmills and greenery along the way.

finally tried some Bitterballen among other things..

Got off the train... escorted to Turn Left Skate Shop and there was a ramp in the backyard!
all within the first 30min of being in Eindhoven, sweet!

A cheese bread roll with some amazing garlic sause concoction.
Derby scarf! They got these for the Dutch championships... it was fun watching the Rockcity Rollers footage as well as their juniors. So cute! And I love seeing derby from around the world.
We shared our views on the subject of an over-sensitive society... I learned about Dutch Santa..I have more to say on the subject but this is a public blog and I'm not interested in your opinion of what I think.. just to follow the journey. so I'll save it for a conversation. What I learned is that it's no different over here, some people love to make something out of what could be nothing. At this rate in a hundred thousand years we will over-analyze ourselves to the point that we just have to end human interaction all together. Yeeesh.
We drank some beers...
On my Neverending quest to define "kolache" in other lands... in Dutch it is Worstenbroodje. The sausage is more like a flat patty and not a dog. No cheese.
Belgian chocolates.... holy. moly. Words don't need to express... just know all those Russell Stover turds are turds in comparison.
A courtesy safety meeting spot? Oh how nice :)
Their convention center is this UFO. I love it
Hahaha
The bar that sponsored their league scarves was closed so I couldn't get a picture of the logo painted on the wall. They have a rockin' tournament this weekend that if I had foreseen I would have planned for Paris first.
Fine for public pissing. I hope to get a photo with my shee-wee by the Manekin pis :]
This is the Eindhoven not-so-cruel-equivalent to "Moses", for those of you at the UofA...
The blurry photo Jake snapped :)
The Netherlands flag is there, so whateva!
Practice was great. A first non-English derby experience. Things were translated for me but honestly hand motions and track location/pointing was almost good enough. We did frenchy walls by another name and the flank and evil washing machine we both called Blocktapuss... I laughed. We scrimmaged a little bit too! A few girls played at World Cup for Team Netherlands, neat!!! And of course it was awesome to finally play with Sif Stichess, whom I met at a Gotham practice back in 2010 or so :):):)
Found on the locker room wall
Excellent poster at the pub across from practice. (It's a glass a wine)
New beers everyday!!
THIS! Was way awesome.  This would be the Dutch cousin of Trailer Park Boys. I will be seeking out the other movie when. I return home. I also won't be paying for anything anymore!!! Hahahahaha
Our lovely hosts
Note to self... holder of the stick should wave around when taking a silly photo.... derp
Now we are on the train to Brussels enjoying some nice burger cookies
